南京鐵道職業(yè)技術(shù)學(xué)院是經(jīng)江蘇省人民政府批準成立、教育部備案的一所省屬公辦?？茖哟蔚娜罩破胀ǜ咝?，是軌道交通行業(yè)辦學(xué)歷史最悠久、影響力最大的高職院校之一，是長三角地區(qū)唯一一所軌道交通高校，是江蘇省高水平高職院校建設(shè)單位、國家優(yōu)質(zhì)高等職業(yè)院校、中國特色高水平高職學(xué)校和專業(yè)群建設(shè)單位。新時代，學(xué)校確立了建設(shè)中國特色、世界水準卓越新南鐵的發(fā)展目標。

學(xué)校辦學(xué)歷史悠久。前身是創(chuàng)建于1941年的南京特別市立第一職業(yè)中學(xué)，1953年，黃炎培先生創(chuàng)辦的中華職業(yè)學(xué)校（時名為上海輕工業(yè)學(xué)校）商科并入我校，1955年起更名為南京鐵路運輸學(xué)校，長期隸屬鐵道部管理。2002年學(xué)校升格為高等職業(yè)技術(shù)學(xué)院，更名為南京鐵道職業(yè)技術(shù)學(xué)院，2004年成建制由鐵道部劃轉(zhuǎn)江蘇省地方管理。建校80年來，始終堅守“職教報國、立德樹人、追求卓越”的初心使命，傳承教育救國、現(xiàn)代職教、鐵路行業(yè)三種稟賦，堅持“走合作辦學(xué)之路，與中國鐵路同行”的辦學(xué)理念，致力培養(yǎng)“具有家國情懷、工匠精神、鐵路基因的興路強國時代新人”，為行業(yè)和區(qū)域經(jīng)濟發(fā)展培養(yǎng)了10萬余名高素質(zhì)技術(shù)技能人才，被譽為鐵路“黃埔軍?！?。

學(xué)校辦學(xué)條件優(yōu)質(zhì)。現(xiàn)有浦口和建寧路兩個校區(qū)，占地面積1146畝，總建筑面積40.2萬平方米，全日制在校生10337人，教職工604人，設(shè)有運輸管理學(xué)院、通信信號學(xué)院、機車車輛學(xué)院、供電與工程學(xué)院、財經(jīng)與物流管理學(xué)院、建筑與藝術(shù)設(shè)計學(xué)院、智能工程學(xué)院等，開辦專業(yè)36個，構(gòu)建了以軌道交通專業(yè)為優(yōu)勢和特色的專業(yè)群體系，其中國家“雙高”建設(shè)專業(yè)群1個（鐵道交通運營管理專業(yè)群），軌道交通類專業(yè)行業(yè)領(lǐng)先，會計、藝術(shù)設(shè)計等地方專業(yè)省內(nèi)一流。建有全國唯一、連接鐵路正線、列車開進校園的高鐵實訓(xùn)基地，集成高鐵六大系統(tǒng)，全真高鐵設(shè)備，技術(shù)與現(xiàn)場同步，實訓(xùn)條件全國一流，成為“江蘇鐵路人才培訓(xùn)基地”、中國鐵路總公司定點培訓(xùn)單位、歐亞交通高校國際聯(lián)合會國際化人才培養(yǎng)基地。

學(xué)校辦學(xué)實力行業(yè)領(lǐng)先。在行業(yè)學(xué)會、行指委等組織中擔任主任、副主任，牽頭鐵道運輸類專業(yè)升級及數(shù)字化改造，牽頭研制教育部鐵道交通運營管理專業(yè)企業(yè)生產(chǎn)實際教學(xué)案例庫、專業(yè)教學(xué)標準、頂崗實習標準、實訓(xùn)教學(xué)條件建設(shè)標準，引領(lǐng)行業(yè)院校鐵道類專業(yè)建設(shè)。省級以上重點專業(yè)、行業(yè)名師、全國鐵路行業(yè)技能大賽一等獎、國家規(guī)劃教材同類院校領(lǐng)先。建有全國首家“地鐵學(xué)院”。建有全國首個“鐵路文化研究中心”、江蘇鐵路教育館等，是全國鐵路科普教育基地、江蘇省愛國主義教育基地。

學(xué)校國際合作引領(lǐng)行業(yè)院校。牽頭搭建中國—東盟軌道交通教育培訓(xùn)聯(lián)盟等4大國際合作平臺，覆蓋“一帶一路”，訂單招收培養(yǎng)沿線國家留學(xué)生，在埃及、老撾掛牌成立鐵路海外培訓(xùn)基地，與北京交通大學(xué)共同承擔商務(wù)部援外培訓(xùn)項目——埃塞俄比亞亞吉鐵路列車調(diào)度員崗位培訓(xùn)；與西南交通大學(xué)共同承擔中國工程院重大咨詢課題——“一帶一路”軌道交通專業(yè)人才培養(yǎng)研究、共同開展蒙內(nèi)鐵路職業(yè)崗位人員培訓(xùn)、合作編寫全英文培訓(xùn)教材，服務(wù)中國鐵路走出去。

Introduction to Nanjing Vocational Institute of Railway Technology (NVIRT)

Nanjing Vocational Institute of Railway Technology (NVIRT) is a full-time public regular institution of higher learning (junior college) under provincial jurisdiction approved by the People’s Government of Jiangsu and filed with the Ministry of Education. She is a high grade occupational junior college in Jiangsu Province, a quality higher occupational college at the State level, and a high grade occupational school with characteristics in China with various disciplines. NVIRT was formerly No. 1 Occupational School of Nanjing Special City set up in 1941, which was renamed as Nanjing Rail Transport School under the Ministry of Railway, and upgraded to higher learning occupational college in the name of NVIRT in 2002. She was transferred to the local jurisdiction of Jiangsu by the Ministry of Railway in 2004.

Eight decades of vicissitude has enriched the NVIRTers with the responsibilities of “empowering the students with moral, dedicating to the rail cause and serving for the community” in the historic perspective. The hardship and struggle have led to excellent traditions and rich rail campus in addition to its output of quality skilled graduates, which has thus been highly acclaimed by the society. NVIRT has opened a new chapter since its upgrade to the college. She has shown outstanding performance in the 1st appraisal of higher occupational or junior college training by the Ministry of Education, as a model junior college at the provincial level. The new campus in Pukou was initiated and new innovative training system was commenced. Strategic cooperation with the industry or regional large company has been entered for tailor-made training. High level practice platform combining industry and teaching has been set up and co-training with other higher learning institutions has been forwarded. The student entrepreneurship or sci-tech industrial park co-sponsored with the government agencies and companies have been built to remodel in a way of integrated learning so as to enhance the training. NVIRT has been rewarded as “one of the top 50 service contributors of junior college”, “one of top 50 with international impact”, “advanced entity in occupational training at provincial level”, “civilized campus at provincial level”, or “advanced entity in graduate employment at provincial level”. Her enrollment marks have been at the top for 7 consecutive years and her graduates have ranked at the top 3 in job competitiveness for 6 consecutive years. NVIRT has been listed as an excellent higher learning occupational college by the Ministry of Education and selected as a high level junior occupational college with characteristics and various disciplines.

The institute has seven secondary schools, namely the School of Transportation Management, the School of Communication and Signaling, the School of Rolling Stock and Vehicles, the School of Power Supply and Engineering, the School of Finance and Logistics Management, the School of Intelligent Engineering, the School of Architecture, Art and Design. There are six teaching departments, e.g. the School of Marxist and the School of International Education. It has opened majors in Rail transport operation management, Railway signal auto-control，EMU Maintenance Technology, Power Supply Technology，Marketing, Computer application technology, Construction engineering technology for the rail transit industry and the regional economy.

With the new target of “New NVIRT with Chinese Characteristics and world level” defined by new Party Commission, NVIRT, having its base in Jiangsu, will make great effort in emancipating minds, deepening reform, highly implementing college’s five development strategies for building an excellent college focused on quality, talents, innovation, characteristics and openness, entirely promoting “Double High” construction, which has been orientating to Jiangsu, facing China, serving the industry of railway and urban rail transit, aiming at the regional economy, and focusing on the main task of cultivating students by strengthening their moral education, so as to cultivate high-quality skilled talents with patriotism, craftsman spirit and rail gene, those of whom will make contribution to better serve transportation strategy, the Belt and Road initiative, and the constriction for “New Jiangsu on railway”.
